Braun HiFi LE1 Elektrostatic Loudspeaker with Braun Tube Amp CSV 60, Receiver CE 15, Turntable PCS 5, Kangaroo HiFi Sideboard

braun LE1

The LE1 is the most beautiful and pioneering loudspeaker design by designer Dieter Rams, which appeared on the market towards the end of the 1950s. The design of the electrostatic loudspeaker with its clear form language has lost none of its freshness to this day and in a historical context is undisputedly the godfather of the design of today’s Apple computers. The sound is exceptionally precise, smooth and incredibly realistic in the depth gradation. Must have.

braun wall unit

The wall-mounted system is one of the most sought-after hi-fi systems from the 60s. The combination of the amplifier part with radio, the tape recorder, the matching speakers and the record player on a modified Vitsoe 606 shelf is a great idea of the designer Dieter Rams. Braunaudio offers the wall-mounted system in perfect optical and technical condition with all accessories, cable concept and detailed assembly instructions. vitsoe 606 audio integration

The fact that the Braun audio 310 fits perfectly into the Vitsoe 606 is not known to every lover of the iconic stereo system. This option is also rather unknown to the countless owners of the Vitsoe 606 shelf designed in the early 1960s. The 65 cm wide stereo system from the audio series matches into the narrower element of the Vitsoe shelf. In combination with the record shelf, a CD player and the Bluetooth receiver, the audio 310 integrates into the Vitsoe shelf as an elegant audio bar. For some speaker models, there are also special fittings for hanging in the cult shelf.

braun vintage speakers

Suitable speakers for the Braun audio stereo’s are available in many different sizes and designs. The L 425 as the smallest speaker fits well into the Vitsoe shelf 606. Characteristic for the 70s speakers is the Dieter Rams design with the rounded corners, anodized aluminum grille and the white varnish. The 60s speakers came with right-angled corners. Well-preserved Braun speakers from the 60s and 70s are hard to get and achieve reasonable prices.

It depends on the paint condition, which price is reasonable for a Braun audio 310. The market prices vary in a range between some hundred Euros for stereo systems in dreadful state and up to several thousand Euros for a 70s stereo in absolute perfect condition. The most common problems are the paint damages on the silver lackered surface caused by the transparent perspex lid. Real Braun fans are looking after fully functionable audio 310 stereo’s for their living rooms, desiring perfect shape and condition and a pair of suiting loudspeakers also.

as little design as possible

The idea for this timeless design stems from the basic attitude of the then young designer Dieter Rams and his team at the up-and-coming and style-defining Braun AG in Frankfurt in the 1960s. The sensible arrangement of controls, coupled with simple design language, a reduction to the bare essentials and a sense of beauty are just as true today as they were then. Sustainability and longevity can be heard and seen live in a well-restored audio 310 from 1972.
