audio 310 anthracite & kangaroo

The Braun audio 310 anthracite looks very attractive compared to the more commonly known white model. Combined with original Braun speakers L500 or L420/1 in black or anthracite, this early 70’s stereo is a perfect design object. You achieve museum-like quality, when placed on the Vitsoe Kangaroo HiFi side board of designer legend Dieter Rams. This hi-fi table features an aluminum frame with a dark grey laminated press board. The technical and optical condition of the bundle shown here is very good (A). There are some minor stains, but the complete system is technically reviewed and in absolutely satisfying condition.

vitsoe kangaroo, 1967

The Kangaroo hi-fi side table was designed in 1967 by Dieter Rams and is a perfect fit for 60s and 70s Braun audio stereo systems. The design of the aluminium frame of the Kangaroo has significant similarities with Vitsoe Zapf 601 RZ60 and 602 chairs. These chairs are very rare in mint condition. RZ 60 chairs from the late 60s obtain top prices, like the Kangaroo, which also is a much sought after design object and hard to find (20,3 x 38,6 x 12,6 inch).

Put the needle on the record

The built-in turntable model PS 430 X in the audio 310 stereo is a stunning piece of craftmanship. The nicely designed tone arm has a lift, for the first time ever in Braun turntables, and an automatic switch-off at the end of the record. This is the main difference to the audio 300, where you don’t find both of these features. Usually there is a Shure cartridge in the headshell, the stylus can still be ordered nowadays. After a technical maintenance service, done in a qualified specialists workshop, these turntables work like they did on day one and will do for decades. Here you find the original Braun stylus tracking force gauge.

Is a Braun audio 310 network ready?

With its 5‑pin DIN connectors the Braun audio 310 offers two additional inputs for stereo signals. One is a tape input, the other is called ‘reserve’. Whatever the designer have thought of, they’ve made a good decision by adding these two more inputs. You can easily connect your CD-Player or your smartphone via a cinch adapter or a 3,5 mm jack to the braun audio 310. A common bluetoooth adapter makes a wireless input possible, allowing for music streaming from the Internet.
